Prospective Students Can Now Access Degree Programmes in Environmental Health and Community Health Science at DAVEST, Ekan

DAVEST College of Health Technology, Ekan, has taken another significant step in expanding its academic opportunities through a formal affiliation with Thomas Adewumi University, Oko.

The new academic arrangement provides an opportunity for qualified students and prospective applicants to pursue university degree programmes in selected health-related disciplines while studying through the affiliated arrangement at DAVEST.

The partnership was established through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two institutions, marking an important development in DAVEST's efforts to broaden its academic offerings and create additional pathways for students seeking higher qualifications in the health sector.

The formal agreement was entered into by the Vice-Chancellor and Registrar of Thomas Adewumi University and the Provost and Deputy Provost of DAVEST College of Health Technology, Ekan. The development demonstrates the commitment of both institutions to promoting accessible and quality university education in health-related fields.

DEGREE PROGRAMMES OFFERED


Under the new academic affiliation, eligible students can apply for the following undergraduate programmes:

- Bachelor of Environmental Health Science (BEHS)
- Bachelor of Community Health Science (BCHS)

Admission and academic operations for the programmes will be conducted in accordance with the conditions of the affiliation and the requirements of the relevant regulatory bodies.

APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN


Admission into the affiliated degree programmes is currently ongoing for the 2026 academic session.

Prospective candidates who satisfy the applicable JAMB requirements and prescribed cut-off mark are encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity and commence their admission process.

Candidates who initially selected a different institution during their JAMB registration may also consider the Change of Institution option, where applicable, and in accordance with JAMB regulations.

Furthermore, candidates who already possess National Diploma (ND) or Higher National Diploma (HND) qualifications may explore the JAMB Direct Entry pathway, provided they meet the requirements for their preferred degree programme.

The new affiliation creates an additional route for students with an interest in the health sector to advance from professional health training into university-level education.

The development also forms part of DAVEST College of Health Technology's continuing commitment to improving educational opportunities and preparing students for meaningful careers in the health sector.

Commenting on the development, the Provost of DAVEST College of Health Technology, Dr. Awoleye David Olusegun, described the affiliation as an important achievement for the institution and a major step towards widening access to higher education for aspiring health professionals.

According to him, the partnership will give students greater opportunities to pursue their academic goals while supporting the development of well-trained and competent manpower for the health sector.
